'Cardinal Study no.1' ORIGINAL drawing
 
This could almost be considered a “Code Red” study — I’ve learned so much while drawing this cardinal. I’ve been captivated by its sharp, angular features and the way its vibrant red plumage contrasts so boldly with the softer tones of its surroundings. Recreating the texture of the feathers and the subtle play of light on its body was a challenge that pushed me to explore new techniques and pay closer attention to detail. Translating that intensity and character onto paper was a deeply rewarding process.
 
Drawn with high-quality colored pencils on premium paper, this original piece is the result of many hours of focused, careful work. It’s a one-of-a-kind artwork — not a print — created to highlight the cardinal’s striking presence and natural elegance. As part of my growing body of bird studies, it carries both artistic and collector’s value.
