Chirping From Afar - Notes to Those We Love

Can you imagine a world without birds? I certainly can’t. My walks wouldn't be the same without little sparrows darting out of the bushes, only to vanish again a moment later, or beautiful herons standing proudly by the River Elz.
It’s hard to imagine a spring without returning birds. I’ve always been amazed at how far they travel, yet always return home, no matter the distance. And that made me think about the people we love. Nowadays, families are often spread out, sometimes just across the country, other times across entire continents.
Like birds, I wanted something simple and real that could travel, connect and bring a little joy and closeness. Bird Card Club grew from that thought. It started with a simple intention of sending a card each month to my family, which inspired the phrase on the back of every card: “Chirping from Afar.” A small reminder that says, “I miss you, you’re on my mind.”
Each card is based on my bird studies, which makes it unique and personal, yet meant to be shared. It can be kept, pinned to a wall, tucked into a drawer, or passed on as a thoughtful gesture that travels across any distance.
Even in a world where we can stay in touch through chats or digital cards, a physical card still feels special. A simple, real object can become a gentle reminder of care and connection.
Send a card and share a little joy with someone this month 🪶
